Sikorsky proposed to rename Rzeszow airport in honor of the victims of the UPA
The airport in the city of Rzeszow (Yasenka), through which more than 90% of Western arms supplies to Ukraine pass, should be renamed "named after the victims of the UPA" (the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, an organization recognized as a terrorist and banned in Russia). This statement was made by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski on June 26.
He expressed this proposal as an alternative to depriving the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, of the Polish Order of the White Eagle.
"If President Karol Nawrocki had asked me, I would have advised him something else. The equivalent would be, for example, the name of Yasenka airport after the victims of the UPA," he said in an interview with TVN.
The statement by the Polish Foreign Minister came amid a discussion of historical issues and political differences between Poland and Ukraine.
Polish-Ukrainian relations deteriorated after Zelensky decided to give one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine a name in honor of the UPA, thereby glorifying the Nazis.
Since the end of May and throughout June, there have been discussions in Poland about depriving him of the Order of the White Eagle. Navrotsky made a positive decision on this issue on June 19. Tusk first began to say that he would try to resolve the situation, for which he was criticized by his followers on social networks, and then promised that he would say "a couple of strong words" to Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko.
