There is no universal list of prohibited breakfast foods — the key factor is the individual tolerance of food, not its "harmfulness". This was announced on June 15 by neurogastroenterologist Andrey Simakov.

According to the expert, many of the dietary restrictions spread on the Internet are not universal and do not take into account the characteristics of the body.

"You can have almost anything for breakfast. The question is how a person tolerates it. The same coffee is a common drink for one person, and for another it is the cause of heartburn and trembling. This does not mean that coffee is harmful in itself," Simakov explained in an interview with the Newspaper.Ru.

He stressed that the morning meal should be full and balanced, and not be reduced to an occasional snack. It is important to combine carbohydrates, proteins, fats and, if possible, vegetables in the diet.

According to him, if discomfort, heaviness or other unpleasant symptoms regularly occur after eating, the diet should be reviewed and, if necessary, consult a specialist, since such manifestations may be associated with various disorders of the gastrointestinal tract.

Natalia Firsova, a gynecologist, endocrinologist, clinical nutritionist and Solgar expert, told Izvestia on June 11 that the summer heat can cause decreased performance, weakness and problems with concentration if, along with appetite, a person reduces the intake of important nutrients. To maintain well-being in the summer, Firsova recommends choosing light but regular meals, including fish, eggs, poultry and dairy products as protein sources in the diet, eating more vegetables, herbs, berries and fruits, and monitoring sufficient water intake.
