- The FCS ruled out the connection of the traffic jam on the border with Kazakhstan with the work of the customs of the Russian Federation
The accumulation of vehicles on the border of Russia and Kazakhstan is not related to the work of the Russian customs authorities. This was announced on June 7 by the Federal Customs Service (FCS).
"Within the framework of the SPOT, mobile customs groups carry out selective control, checking the QR code takes less than a minute and does not affect the movement of vehicles across the border," the agency wrote on its Telegram channel.
The service recalled that the FCS does not carry out customs control at the border with Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia.
"Customs authorities perform additional functions within the system in accordance with the federal law on SPOT. The codes are checked selectively, without interfering with the movement of goods and vehicles, which is confirmed by the drivers," the FCS said.
The ministry also stressed that even in the event of an increase in the flow of cargo transport, the customs authorities are ready to ensure the unhindered movement of goods.
The State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan reported yesterday that a traffic jam had formed on the border of the republic and Russia in the Aktobe region due to a decrease in the rate of acceptance of vehicles by the Russian side. The Kazakh customs clarified that there are four lanes of traffic at the Zhaysan automobile checkpoint from Kazakhstan, while there are only two lanes at the neighboring Russian Sagarchin checkpoint.
