6.6 trillion rubles in four days: the 29th SPIEF 2026 showed that the era of concrete solutions has arrived - from large-scale infrastructure projects and new investments to the launch of mass production of aircraft. On June 6, Anton Kobyakov, Executive Secretary of the organizing committee and Adviser to the President, traditionally summed up the results of the forum. The participants signed 1,084 agreements, and representatives of 142 states came to St. Petersburg. Russia has demonstrated not only the stability of the economy, but also the ability to launch large industrial projects and expand international relations. What signals Vladimir Putin gave to business and the world and why the current forum was called the most applied — in the Izvestia article.

The main results of the forum

Representatives of 142 countries took part in the forum's events, and the total number of participants exceeded 24.5 thousand, Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee, said at the final press conference on June 6. He also noted that for the first time in 10 years, an official delegation from the United States took part in the work of the site.

— We must pay tribute to [US President Donald] Trump, who brought the situation in Russia and the United States out of the negotiating impasse into which [his predecessor Joe] Biden plunged it. Our dialogue is slowly being restored, and we are waiting for the Americans to fulfill the agreements already reached," Anton Kobyakov commented on the visit.

In total, according to him, 1,084 agreements totaling 6.64 trillion rubles were concluded at the SPIEF.

The Presidential adviser recalled that the main theme of the forum was "Pragmatic dialogue — the way to a stable future." It was a kind of our appeal to the world, Russia has never closed the doors to contacts, Kobyakov explained. At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that a huge block of topics related to global changes.

— The global economy is irreversibly shifting towards the Global Majority. The BRICS countries provide more than 40% of global GDP and provide half of global economic growth," said the presidential adviser.

Today, economic fragmentation is increasing in the world, and the crisis in the Middle East may lead to additional risks for the global economy amid the expected growth in demand for energy, food and rare earth metals.

Anton Kobyakov expressed the opinion that European countries should evaluate the importance of Russian energy resources and fertilizers differently in the context of global instability. According to him, the SPIEF has shown the growing interest of Western investors in working in Russia. There is no isolation, the presidential adviser emphasized, noting that business dialogues occupied a special place in the business program of the forum.

Putin's most important statements at the SPIEF

The main event of the forum was a plenary session with the participation of Vladimir Putin. In his speech, the President of the Russian Federation paid great attention to the development of the economy, as well as the predictability and stability of the investment climate, which are important for high business activity.

"A strong, sovereign, dynamic economy means the development of private initiative, because it is entrepreneurs and companies that find and form market niches, produce goods and services, and stimulate employment," the president stressed.

According to him, businesses should clearly understand the tax system, tariffs, regulation, measures and mechanisms of government support. At the same time, the president recalled that the tax system in Russia has been fine-tuned, a range of investment support has been built both at the federal and regional levels, and a national model of targeted business conditions has been prepared.

— Among other things, we are talking about concrete steps to simplify the registration of companies and filing tax reports. This work, of course, needs to be continued — to make it more convenient for businesses to connect to the infrastructure, improve the effectiveness of law enforcement, and so on. It is very important, and I want to emphasize once again, that the national model brings tangible results for businesses and entrepreneurs," Vladimir Putin said.

One of the key statements was the president's statement that further lowering of the threshold for business revenue for VAT payments could be postponed and fixed at the current level.

"We have discussed this issue in detail with representatives of the business community and with the Prime Minister," Vladimir Putin said. — I won't name the deadline, but the further away, probably the better. I ask the government, together with the deputies of the State Duma, to make the necessary amendments.

The President also touched upon the international agenda. He drew attention to the fact that the model of global development, which the West presented as neutral, eventually turned out to be a system for pumping out resources and forming dependence. However, according to him, the harmonious way of development in the modern world lies in the ability of countries to hear each other.

Other important topics that were discussed at SPIEF 2026 included the discussion of a new national trade model by business and government, the whitewashing of imports against the background of stricter supply regulation, Russia's role in international institutions and the impact of media content on future generations.

One of the new trends of the forum was that, in addition to the traditional media, most of the ministers and other high-ranking officials chose the VK Video Blog Studio for interviews. She was visited by Presidential press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov and Finance Minister Anton Siluanov.

A landmark event of the forum was the issuance by Rosaviation of type certificates for the IL-114-300 regional turboprop aircraft and the new PD-8 engine for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft. These documents will allow them to start mass production. The event was held in the presence of First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Saveliev and Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov.

— This is an entrance ticket to the domestic civil aviation market. For this purpose, Rostec enterprises have carried out a deep modernization of almost all aircraft systems. The aircraft is designed in a basic layout with 66 seats. It is equipped with new Russian turboprop engines, modern avionics, a digital flight and navigation system and an ergonomic passenger cabin interior," the First Deputy Prime Minister commented.

In addition, on every day of the forum, its participants signed important documents for business and government. On June 3, an agreement was signed between the DPR and Miranda Media, which will contribute to the development of mobile communications in the region. Bank ROSSIYA has concluded a series of agreements with the heads of St. Petersburg, the Leningrad Region, as well as with representatives of Tatarstan and Sevastopol. In addition, Bank ROSSIYA will develop a single payment document based on the Smorodina software as part of an agreement with Abkhazia.

On June 5, the bank signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of financial culture with the Finance Committee of the Government of St. Petersburg, and another document was signed with the Vice-Governor of the region, Sergey Kropachev. Also on Friday, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Bank ROSSIYA and the State Council of the Republic of Crimea, aimed at improving the investment climate in the region, as well as with the developer Arion. On the same day, a meeting was held with a representative of the Kherson region. In addition, agreements were signed with the companies T Plus and R-Pharm, as well as GC Monolit and GC Console-Stroy.

How the forum is useful for business

"We assess the last forum as extremely positive for us, since the red line of almost all speeches was the importance and need to develop platformization and digital platforms as a new point of growth for the economy and the state," Oraz Durdyev, president of the Association of Digital Platforms, told Izvestia.

This, he said, was reflected, among other things, in Vladimir Putin's speech. And the tasks set by him to form a strategy for the development of the platform economy in Russia are very important and promising.

— We are very enthusiastic about the upcoming work that will need to be done together with the presidential administration to build such a strategy and create the right conditions for the development of this industry, — said the representative of the industry.

This year's forum vividly reflects the desire of each participant to contribute to the realization of national goals and strategic objectives of our country, said Stanislav Kaplan, Executive Director of Beverages Together.

According to him, the forum became an opportunity for the company to further expand socio-economic cooperation with the regions of its presence and to continue its work in the field of ecology and sustainable development.

There was a lot of talk at SPIEF about technology, regional development, and human capital. It is important that these topics have been continued in specific agreements, partnerships and projects, Elena Stolbovskikh, a participant in the forum and CEO of Breweries Bochkarev, told Izvestia.

The Forum confirmed Russia's course towards a pragmatic reorientation of the economy in the face of protracted geopolitical turbulence, said Anastasia Gorelkina, Chairman of the Board of Directors of HC Siberian Business Union.

—Delegations from more than 130 countries, the guest country is Saudi Arabia, the presence of the Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the People's Republic of China and the Minister of Energy of the world's largest oil exporter at the plenary session are all eloquent signals: Moscow is consistently building an alternative architecture for international economic cooperation based on the Global South, BRICS and bilateral strategic partnerships," the expert believes.

She noted that Vladimir Putin's plenary speech set a specific domestic economic agenda. The stated goal of becoming one of the three largest economies in the world is supported by data on a 30 percent increase in real wages over five years and a record expansion of the role of SMEs in industry, which has reached 15% of total production, Gorelkina stressed.

The main difference from the previous SPIEF is the noticeably more applied and less imaginative nature of the agenda, said Ekaterina Movsesyan, CEO of CROS.

— Previously, the forum was often perceived as a platform for general international dialogue and major statements, but in 2026 its focus shifted to projects with a specific financial model, industrial, infrastructural and technological transactions. At the same time, it is noticeable that there is a tense macroeconomic environment with expensive money behind the partnerships, so each agreement was prepared especially carefully," the expert noted.

According to her, the volume of transactions as a whole remained at the level of previous years, and today it is estimated at 6.4–6.5 trillion rubles. Among the most notable signings is the Dom project. The Russian Federation and Alfa-Bank for up to 200 billion rubles for 2026-2027, VTB and Forma's office leasing agreement for 50 billion rubles, and regional tourism projects in the Leningrad Region for 53 billion rubles.

In general, the largest public transactions focused on financing construction and infrastructure, while strategic accents were placed on electronics, AI infrastructure, anti-fraud and pharmaceutical localization.
