Politico learned about Trump's consideration of several options for action in Cuba
US President Donald Trump, together with his team, is exploring the implementation of both diplomatic and military options for further actions in Cuba, but a final decision on this issue has not yet been made. This was reported by the Politico newspaper with reference to one of the senior White House officials.
"Trump has diplomatic and military options for action in Cuba, but he has not yet decided to go one way or another," the publication says.
The publication clarifies that Washington's future strategy towards Havana remains unclear at the moment. Nevertheless, the United States continues its policy of restrictions aimed at blocking energy supplies and expanding sanctions lists.
Politico learned on May 18 that the White House is still inclined to implement a possible military scenario in Cuba. The next day, the Cuban president warned the United States against invading his country. He threatened the American side with a "bloodbath."
A few days earlier, on May 15, journalist Polina Alvarez, speaking to Izvestia, described life in Cuba under American sanctions. According to her, the White House, taking such measures in January of this year, did not hide its intentions to destroy the economy of the Latin American state, however, even despite this, the situation there is now calm.
