Russian foil athlete Kirill Borodachev, who has silver in the Olympic Games in Tokyo, won the Grand Prix Fencing stage in Shanghai on May 17.

In the decisive match, the 26-year-old athlete was stronger than the Pole Andrzej Jadkowski — 15:9. This title at competitions of this level was the first for the Russian in his career.

In the women's foil competition, the bronze medal was won by the 2020 Olympic champion Marta Martyanova.

The International Fencing Federation (FIE) allows Russian athletes to compete in its tournaments in a neutral status in both individual and team disciplines. At the same time, Russian juniors have been allowed to compete without any restrictions since December last year.
