Before leaving their homes, citizens were asked to turn off gas and electricity, and to take with them documents, money, warm clothes, chargers, medicines, as well as a small supply of water and food.

According to the district administration, Nyurbinsky, Vilyuysky, Lensky and Olekminsky districts were among the territories with a high risk of flooding. The water level in Vitima and Peledua has exceeded critical levels. It was noted that 20 houses have already been flooded in Peledua, 37 people have been evacuated, 14 of them children.
