Some plants are prohibited from growing at home or on private plots, and violations may even result in criminal liability. "If we are talking about a particularly large amount of cultivation by a group of people by prior agreement or an organized group, the punishment becomes much stricter — imprisonment for up to eight years, with or without possible additional restriction of liberty for up to two years," the lawyer said.
