Colonel-General Alexander Chaiko has been appointed the new commander-in-Chief of the Russian Military Space Forces (VKS). This was reported by RBC on May 4, citing sources in the Ministry of Defense.

Prior to that, since October 2023, the position was held by Viktor Afzalov. Chaiko is also the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
