- Lavrov urged the United States to take into account Russia's interests for cooperation
The United States should take into account Russia's national interests in order to build mutually beneficial cooperation, but at the moment this is not happening. This was announced on April 24 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
According to the head of the department, the American side offers Moscow to resolve the Ukrainian crisis and make concessions in exchange for promises of "huge economic prospects." At the same time, at the same time, they are trying to exclude Russia from participating in global resource supplies.
"If we are ready to carry out mutually beneficial projects on our territory and provide Americans with what they are interested in, taking into account our interests, then our interests must be taken into account. We don't see this yet," he is quoted as saying on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The minister noted that Russia was ready to discuss the situation in Ukraine even during the Alaska talks, but now Western partners are beginning to "hesitate" on this issue. Lavrov added that international law must be respected beyond Russia's natural resources.
"This is an unusual situation — a return to when there was no framework for international relations. It was said bluntly that the interests of the United States prevail over any international agreements," the diplomat concluded.
