The Iranian armed Forces have restored military control over the Strait of Hormuz due to the blockade by the United States. This was announced on April 18 by the command of the Iranian armed forces.

On the eve of the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Bagai, said that Iran would take retaliatory measures if the United States did not lift the naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz.

On the same day, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that the passage through the Strait of Hormuz was open to commercial vessels due to the truce between Lebanon and Israel. He added that the movement of vessels is ensured along the route agreed upon by the Organization of Ports and Maritime Transport of Iran.

US President Donald Trump said that the naval blockade of Iran's ports remains in place, despite the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, until Washington's deal with Tehran is 100% completed.
