The Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case into the death of opera singer Evgeny Kungurov. This was announced on April 17 by the lawyer of the actor's father, Evgeny Chernousov.

According to the newspaper Kommersant, it was initially believed that the actor passed away voluntarily. However, the singer's father Viktor Kungurov insists that his son was murdered.
