In Australia, a 13-year-old girl has appeared in court charged with 109 crimes. This was reported on April 13 in The Age magazine.

"It got to the point where a 13-year-old child not only gets behind the wheel of a stolen car over and over again, but also uses it as a weapon against other road users," the prosecutor said.

The most high-profile episode occurred on March 30: while driving a stolen car in the Brisbane suburb of Brighton in the southeast of Melbourne, a girl tried to hit a cyclist with a car door, and after a verbal altercation, she drove the car directly at him — a 45-year-old man was knocked down.

Investigators examined the defendant's phone and found, in their words, "disturbing" content, including videos. Three minutes after the hit-and-run, she typed a query into the search bar about the length of time she would face for such a crime.

The prosecutor noted that the teenager's criminal activity was steadily increasing: for 74 days, she committed an average of 1.45 crimes per day. According to the investigation, the girl herself stated that nothing would stop her from further offenses.

The defense lawyer applied for bail, stating that the Juvenile Affairs Service was ready to supervise the ward and that she had expressed her willingness to return to school. The judge refused to grant the petition, stating that it was impossible to draw any other conclusion in this case. The next hearing is scheduled in three weeks, until then the girl will remain in custody.

The Daily Mail newspaper reported on March 31 that 43-year-old John Hannon was detained in the US state of New Mexico on charges of the brutal murder of his 11-month-old son named JJ. According to investigators, the man buried the child alive in a roadside ditch, after which he tried to hide the crime.
