The most common schemes of deceiving Russians before Easter were phishing postcards, contests on social networks and the sale of supposedly sanctified goods. This was reported on April 11 in the press service of the Moshelovka platform of the Popular Front.

"The first scheme is phishing "postcards" and viral content. Mass distribution of "Easter cards", "consecration videos" and "interactive calendars" in messengers. The attackers disguise the malware as links to "exclusive broadcasts from the Cathedral of Christ the Savior" or "live broadcasts with Holy Fire," RIA Novosti reports.

Scammers also launch contests on social networks with large prizes for the best photo of a cake, where participation requires voting through Gosuslugi or paying an organizational fee. In addition, the attackers call and send messages on behalf of the abbots with a request to transfer money to consecration kits or Holy Fire delivery.

It is noted that schemes with fake social contracts are being created for pensioners — allegedly the government allocates 12 thousand rubles for the festive table. Moshelovka advised making donations only in person at the church or through the official websites of dioceses and reminded that the state does not launch social contracts for the festive table through links on the Internet.
