Mishustin announced the cancellation of debts by 10 billion rubles for 11 regions

More than ten billion rubles of debt will be written off from 11 regions of Russia. This was announced on April 6 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a cabinet meeting.

"Today we will help 11 more territories. We will reduce their debt burden by a total of over ten billion rubles," he said.

The list includes the Republic of Altai, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Mari El, Tyva, the Trans-Baikal Territory, as well as the Bryansk, Kirov, Ryazan, Saratov and Ulyanovsk regions.

These regions have allocated most of their own funds to infrastructure projects and investment support, including the modernization of housing and communal services, the recapitalization of industrial development funds, and other purposes.

Borrowers will be limited in the number of expensive microloans and a cooling-off period will be introduced.

On November 13, approximately 28 billion rubles of debt were written off from 15 regions as part of the regional support program initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin. It was noted that Dagestan, Chechnya, Khakassia, Karelia, the Trans-Baikal and Stavropol Territories, as well as the Ivanovo, Kaliningrad, Omsk, Pskov and Smolensk regions were included in this list.
