The man who threw Molotov cocktails at a Russian house in Prague had been preparing an attack since the summer of 2025. Igor Girenko, the director of the institution, told Izvestia about this on March 31 after the arrest of the attacker.

"I am at one of the police stations in Prague. Today it became known that the criminal who committed a terrorist act against the Russian House has been detained. He is a foreigner," he said.

On March 31, Czech police detained a man who attacked a Russian house in Prague. A criminal case will be opened against the man.

The Russian house in Prague was attacked on March 26. Molotov cocktails were thrown at the building, said Igor Girenko, the head of the organization. There were no casualties as a result of the attack. In his opinion, the date of the attack was not chosen by chance, as an event was scheduled for Friday in honor of the end of the Days of Russian Culture.

Later, Pavel Shevtsov, deputy head of Rossotrudnichestvo, said that the attack on the Russian House in Prague was a planned terrorist attack against Russian property. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, in an interview with Izvestia, called the attack a barbaric act.

Czech Interior Minister Lubomir Metnar, in turn, said on March 27 that this was a serious illegal act that posed a threat to security. At the same time, the Czech Ambassador to Moscow, Daniel Kostoval, was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry in connection with the incident. He was strongly protested.
