Lamoda has reduced its staff by 10%

By the end of 2025, the online retailer Lamoda reduced the number of employees from 12.5 thousand to 11.2 thousand, which amounted to about 10% of the staff. This was announced on March 30 by the company's press service.

"The decrease in the number of line staff is due to an increase in the efficiency of operational processes and investments in technology development: changes in the processes of sorting, packaging and transporting goods, the transition from forming orders in a warehouse to piece delivery and consolidating orders at pick—up points," RBC quoted a Lamoda representative as saying.

It is specified that at the same time, the number of IT departments increased by 23%. Labor costs decreased from 12 billion to 11.05 billion rubles, while other personnel costs increased from 2 billion to 3 billion rubles.

The most noticeable increase among commercial expenses (from 37 billion to 42 billion rubles) was in IT services and technical support - by nine times, to 4 billion rubles. The main contribution to revenue was provided by sales of purchased goods through its own logistics (57.8 billion rubles, +10%) and commission under the marketplace model (24.2 billion rubles, +19%).

On March 25, RBC reported that the Russian retailer Gloria Jeans intends to close about 150 of its stores in various regions of the country during 2026. The company plans to abandon outlets that demonstrate the lowest efficiency in terms of profitability. One of the sources admits that the optimization may affect up to 200 stores.
