- Pezeshkian proposed to create a security structure for the countries of the Middle East
Tehran proposes to create a structure to ensure the security of the Middle East, which would include the states of the region. This was announced on March 20 by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in an address on the occasion of the Iranian New Year.
"We are ready to resolve all problems with you. In order to ensure peace and tranquility in the region, we propose to create a security structure in the Middle East, which will include Islamic countries, in order to ensure peace, stability and security," Sputnik International agency quoted the head of state as saying.
He noted that Middle Eastern countries do not require outsiders to be present in the region.
"They killed our leader and our commanders without any reason or logic," Peseshkian said.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on March 18 that Iran had no plans to expand the scale of attacks on energy facilities in the Middle East, but was forced to take this step due to threats to its own security.
The Reuters news agency reported on March 19 that the US presidential administration is considering sending thousands of troops to the Middle East due to tensions with Iran. At the same time, the foreign ministers of 12 Arab and Islamic countries, during a meeting in Riyadh, called Iran's military strikes on the Persian Gulf states unjustified. The ministers called on Iran to stop the attacks, as well as to refrain from any "provocative actions" and threats against neighboring states.
