The Israeli aviation authorities said that American journalist Tucker Carlson was not detained on departure from Ben Gurion Airport. This was reported on February 18 by Vinnews with reference to the Israel Airports Authority.

The ministry stressed that Carlson and those accompanying him "were not detained or interrogated."

Representatives of the department explained that the journalist was asked several standard questions within the framework of current security procedures.

Tucker Carlson told the Daily Mail earlier that day that he and his staff were detained at Ben Gurion Airport after an interview with U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee. According to the journalist, their passports were seized and the producer was taken to a separate room, where they were interested in the content of the conversation with the diplomat. Carlson flew to Tel Aviv to meet with Huckabee, who offered to discuss issues related to Israel's attitude towards Christians.
