Residents of Russia and Belarus have complained about problems with the Telegram messenger. This was confirmed on February 18 by data from the Detector404 crash monitoring service.

According to the platform, over the past hour, more than 1,9 thousand troubleshooting requests have been recorded, and the number of complaints has exceeded 2,5 thousand per day. Users from Belarus, Moscow, St. Petersburg, and the Leningrad Region are the most active in reporting crashes.

Over 40% of the requests are related to notification failures. In addition, users point out difficulties when using the mobile application and the web version of the service.

On February 18, the head of the Ministry of Digital Affairs, Maksut Shadaev, explained Roskomnadzor's decision to slow down Telegram. According to him, the messenger ignored 150,000 requests to delete information prohibited in Russia. As a result, the agency decided to slow down the social network due to violations of the legislation of the Russian Federation.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on February 11 that the legislative measures introduced in Russia regarding Telegram were binding. According to him, the Kremlin is aware of contacts with representatives of the messenger.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
