The garage amnesty in Russia was proposed to be extended until September 2031
On February 18, a bill was submitted to the State Duma proposing to extend the "garage amnesty" until September 1, 2031. The relevant document is posted on the official website of the lower house of Parliament.
The initiative was sponsored by Pavel Krasheninnikov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on State Construction and Legislation, and Vladimir Yakushev, Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia Party.
"Given the scale of the task and the number of unregistered facilities, we consider it necessary to maintain this simplified procedure for another five years," Krashennikov stressed.
He noted that the amnesty has already allowed thousands of Russians to become legitimate property owners.
