Pierre Crinon, a player of the French national ice hockey team, will appear in court on charges of assaulting a goalkeeper during a national championship match. This was reported on February 17 by the newspaper Le Parisien with reference to the prosecutor's office of Grenoble.

"The prosecutor has decided to open a criminal case against Pierre Crinon for intentional violence with the use of weapons. The meeting is scheduled for May 27, 2026," the supervisory authority said in a statement.

According to the newspaper, the Crinone hit the opponent's goalkeeper in the face, causing him an injury that took three days to recover from. Earlier, the prosecutor's office dropped the case due to disciplinary sanctions — the athlete was suspended for seven games, but the decision was later reviewed.

At the Olympic Games in Italy, Crinone was also removed from the court for a fight with Canadian striker Tom Wilson, which ended on February 15 with a crushing defeat of the French (2:10).

Later it became known that Krinon was suspended from the team's matches until the end of the Olympics in Italy for fighting with a Canadian hockey player. A decision was made, fully coordinated with the National Olympic and Sports Committee of France, not to allow him to participate in the upcoming Olympic hockey tournament games.
