- A resident of Murmansk received 12 years in prison for transmitting data about military facilities
The Prosecutor's Office of the Murmansk region supported the prosecution in the case of a 20-year-old local resident found guilty of treason. This was announced on February 18 by the supervisory authority.
"In the period 2024-2025, the defendant, realizing criminal intent, collected information on the Internet about the locations of military facilities located in the Murmansk region, after which he transmitted them via messenger to an employee of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine," the Telegram channel said.
It is reported that the actions of the young man were identified by employees of the Federal Security Service for the Murmansk region. The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced him to 12 years of imprisonment in a high-security colony with additional restriction of liberty for a period of one year.
On the same day, a resident of the Altai Territory was taken into custody on charges of high treason. The accused carried out the tasks of the Ukrainian curator: he collected information about the locations and routes of movement of military equipment of one of the military units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation stationed in the Altai Territory. He passed the collected information to the representative of the SBU.
