Japanese figure skater Ami Nakai beat Russian Adelia Petrosyan in the short program at the 2026 Olympics in Italy. Nakai took the first place, becoming the leader among women after the first stage of the competition.
Russian figure skater Adelia Petrosyan, who performed in a neutral status without national symbols, presented a short program on February 17 and scored 72.89 points. According to the results of the performance, she took the fifth place.
The second place was taken by another representative of Japan, Kaori Sakamoto. American figure skater Alice Liu rounded out the top three.
In the men's tournament, Russian Peter Gumennik took sixth place, and Kazakh figure skater Mikhail Shaidorov won gold.
Adelia Petrosyan became the champion of Russia three times — in 2024, 2025 and 2026. She also won the Russian Grand Prix finals three times - in 2023, 2024 and 2025, won the Russian Jumping Championship in 2025 and won the Olympic qualification tournament of the same year.
