The Russian Armed Forces attacked the facilities of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine in response to the attacks of the Kiev regime

In response to attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on civilian infrastructure facilities in Russia, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched a massive strike with high-precision long-range weapons, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on facilities of the military-industrial complex and energy infrastructure of Ukraine. This was announced on February 17 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

Prior to that, the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, announced on February 16 the destruction of 229 UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the period from 08:00 Moscow time on February 15 to February 16. In turn, the head of the Kharkiv military-Civil administration, Vitaly Ganchev, said that since the beginning of 2025, 12 civilians have been killed in the region by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 25 people have been injured, four of them children. In 2026, five more people were killed and four civilians were injured as a result of shelling by Ukrainian militants in the liberated territory of the region.

The Russian Defense Ministry stressed that in response to the actions of the Ukrainian militants, the Russian military also attacked the sites of production, storage and preparation for the launch of attack drones. All designated targets were hit, the ministry added.

It is noted that over the past day, 148 points of temporary deployment of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries have been destroyed by operational and tactical aircraft, drone strikes, rocket forces and artillery groups of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the special military operation zone. In addition, eight guided aerial bombs and 334 aircraft-type drones were hit by air defense systems.

In total, the Russian military has eliminated 670 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 114,976 drones, 650 anti-aircraft missile systems, 27,742 tanks and other combat vehicles since the beginning of the military operation. The Russian Armed Forces also destroyed 1,664 MLRS combat vehicles, 33,330 field artillery and mortars, and 5,4587 units of special military vehicles.

On the same day, the Ministry of Defense reported that up to 30% of the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters in the Kupyansk-Uzlovoye area were out of action due to frostbite, and the wounded were doomed to a painful death from freezing. According to the ministry, Ukrainian servicemen are forced to spend the night in open-air trenches and unheated dugouts, without heating and hot meals. At the same time, attempts to build bonfires are easily detected by calculations of Russian drones.
