"Ministry" will be added to the school curriculum

Starting from September 2026, the compulsory program "Ministry Training. The First ones", in which high school students will perform social tasks from non-profit organizations (NPOs), government agencies and businesses. This was announced on February 17 by the Minister of Education of Russia Sergey Kravtsov.

"It is important for a modern student not only to know, but also to be able to put into practice the knowledge gained in the classroom. The program "Ministry Training. The first ones" will strengthen this particular component. She will help the guys unlock their potential, try themselves in socially significant projects, and take the first steps towards professional self—determination," RBC quoted him as saying.

The practical work of the students will take place under the guidance of mentors from among teachers or students. Projects take from 70 to 140 hours to complete, and the process itself can last from one to two years.

Igor Murog, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture, reported on February 16 that the introduction of practice-oriented courses on artificial intelligence and information security in schools is consistent with the country's digital development strategy. According to him, such initiatives form a talent pool for the IT industry and promote technological independence. The senator stressed the need for early training of schoolchildren to work with modern technologies and their practical application.
