The Russian Air Defense Forces (Air Defense) and the Black Sea Fleet repelled a night attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on Sevastopol, destroying more than 24 drones (UAVs). This was announced on February 17 by Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev.

"All night, the air defense forces and our Black Sea Fleet repelled the attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It was one of the longest attacks on Sevastopol in recent times. In total, more than 24 UAVs were shot down," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

As Razvozzhaev noted, a nine-year-old boy was injured by the shock wave from the downed drone, and his legs were injured by shrapnel. The child was taken to a children's hospital, his condition is assessed as satisfactory. Windows were broken in a private house on Fiolentovsky Highway.

According to the information of the Sevastopol rescue service, cited by the governor, in the area of Gogol Street, combat units and drone debris detonated in courtyards and on a hill. Windows were broken in three apartment buildings and cars were damaged. In addition, debris fell in the area of houses No. 14, 29 and 31.
