- The Russian government will allocate another 2 billion rubles for the agroleasing program
The Russian government will additionally allocate 2 billion rubles for the preferential agroleasing program in 2026. This was announced on February 11 by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.
Agroleasing is a form of investment in agricultural production, in which companies buy agricultural machinery and transfer it to farmers or legal entities for a certain period of time. For this, the owners of the equipment receive a percentage of the farms' earnings, and also have the right to buy back or return the transferred equipment.
"In total, more than 13 billion rubles have been allocated in the federal budget this year to provide subsidies under the agroleasing program. We will allocate an additional 2 billion rubles today, which will ensure the supply of over 6.5 thousand units of agricultural machinery, and on preferential terms, <...> and will also help finance previously concluded lease agreements in the agricultural complex," Mishustin said.
He stressed that the modernization of agricultural machinery is necessary to maintain the pace of development of the agro-industrial complex. The Prime Minister also noted the importance of quickly transferring funds to farmers on the eve of the sowing campaign. According to him, tractors and combines of domestic and Belarusian production remain the most in-demand equipment.
On February 5, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev announced that the Ministry of Agriculture and the regions had approved the structure of acreage for 2026. As for last season, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, the third largest grain harvest in the country's history was harvested - about 142 million tons. Over 93 million tons of them are wheat.
