The State Duma discussed the introduction of separate queues at Russian airports
Russian citizens should be able to pass through passport control at airports as a matter of priority, especially during peak passenger traffic periods. Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Protection and Veterans' Affairs, said this in an interview on February 9.
According to the MP, it is unacceptable when Russians returning from vacation, migrants from post-Soviet countries and foreign tourists collide in the same queue.
"I will appeal once again to the Ministry of Transport with a proposal to study the emerging practice, especially during peak load, so that <...> our citizens have the opportunity to take priority passage," Nilov told TASS.
The MP also proposed dividing foreigners into two categories — those who come to work and tourists.
"There should be three queues in total. It may vary, it doesn't have to work all the time, but there should be a flexible and reasonable approach everywhere," he concluded.
