Tension was reported in the area of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) due to attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on February 9 by Evgenia Yashina, Director of Communications at ZAES.

"The attacks in the area of the station and in the vicinity of the city did not stop... Thus, the situation remains tense," Yashina said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to her, the exception were the periods of "silence", which were used for carrying out repair and restoration work.
