Rospotrebnadzor sent inquiries to the Egyptian Ministry of Health due to the death of a Russian woman after dinner at the Sharm el‑Sheikh hotel. This was reported on January 6 in the press service of the department.
Earlier, the Network reported that a Russian woman had dinner at the Domina Coral Bay Aquamarine Hotel restaurant. The next morning, she showed symptoms of poisoning and was hospitalized. Tests revealed severe inflammation in the blood against the background of a bacterial infection. After 12 days in the hospital, the patient died.
"Rospotrebnadzor has sent official inquiries in connection with the death of a Russian tourist after dinner at a hotel in Sharm el‑Sheikh," Rospotrebnadzor said in a message on the MAX messenger.
It is clarified that Rospotrebnadzor has requested from the Egyptian authorities the results of the investigation and an assessment of possible epidemiological risks.
On January 11, a boat collided with a fishing vessel on the Thai island of Phuket, resulting in the death of a Russian citizen. The Phuket administration later released details of the rescue operation and stated that all the injured had been evacuated from the scene. Some of the injured were transported by the Zhemchuzhina vessel to the Chalong pier.
It was later reported that 23 Russian citizens were hospitalized as a result of a collision between a tourist boat and a fishing vessel. According to the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Phuket, Egor Ivanov, there were a total of 33 Russians on the boat, as well as citizens of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and other countries. The local police are investigating the incident.
