The prosecutor's office will control the investigation of the assassination attempt on the general in Moscow

The Moscow Prosecutor's Office has taken control of the investigation into the attempted murder of Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev of the Russian Ministry of Defense. This was reported on February 6 in the Telegram channel of the department.

"The Moscow Prosecutor's Office has taken control of the investigation into the criminal case on the attempted murder of Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev of the Russian Defense Ministry in the north-west of Moscow, initiated under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 1 of Article 105 ("Attempted murder"), Part 1 of Article 222 ("Illegal trafficking in firearms")," — the message says.

According to preliminary data, on February 6, 2026, in an apartment building on the Volokolamsk Highway, an unknown person fired several shots at an employee of the Ministry of Defense, after which he fled the scene. The victim was hospitalized.

Maxim Kiselyov, Prosecutor of the North-Western Administrative District of Moscow, coordinates the actions of law enforcement agencies at the scene. The prosecutor's office noted that the establishment of all the circumstances of the incident, as well as those involved in the crime, is under control.
