Slutsky proposed to reduce the first mortgage payment for young people to 3%

The first mortgage payment for young people should be reduced to 3-5%. This was stated on February 2 by the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Leonid Slutsky during a meeting with Russian students organized by the Youth of the Liberal Democratic Party in the format of a talk show "What will happen next".

Under the Youth Mortgage program proposed by the LDPR leader, the initial payment for young people under the age of 35 should not exceed 3-5% of the total cost of housing, and the fixed interest rate on the loan will not exceed 6% per annum.

The head of the Liberal Democratic Party noted that mortgages are an unaffordable luxury for young people today. According to him, the problem lies not only in the monthly payments, but also in the unaffordable initial payment of 2-3 million rubles, which yesterday's student simply cannot collect.

"We need to reduce the down payment by 10 times. Today, the down payment is 30, 40, 50% of the cost of the apartment, but it should be three, four, five, no more," Slutsky said.

In his opinion, the task of the state is to encourage the independence of young people, and their own housing is an integral part of this process.

"It's not to say it from the stage and get the applause. This is the program task of the Liberal Democratic Party for the current session of the State Duma — to prepare a bill, to gain the support of the government, and maybe we will submit [the draft to the Duma] together with the government," said the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party.
