A 29-year-old man was convicted in the Rostov Region for encouraging terrorist activities and spreading false information about the Russian Armed Forces. This was reported on February 3. Lenta.Ru the press service of the FSB in the region.
Denis Shevchenko was found guilty under Articles 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls to carry out terrorist activities") and 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public dissemination of knowingly false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation").
According to the agency, he repeatedly posted comments on the messenger that humiliate people on the basis of nationality and express a negative attitude towards Russia and its citizens, as well as disseminated information discrediting the army. The Southern Military Court sentenced him to seven years in a penal colony.
On January 9, the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Zaporizhia region stopped the illegal activities of a resident of the region who called for terrorist activities on the Internet. A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls for terrorist activities"), which provides for a penalty of up to seven years in prison.
