UAC excluded foreign spare parts for MS-21 equipment
The situation with aircraft spare parts blocked in the United States, previously purchased by Russia, does not affect the operation of the domestic MC-21 aircraft. This was reported to Izvestia on February 2 by the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).
"Since 2022, when it was decided to create a fully import-substituted aircraft, the supply of foreign components for the MC-21 has ceased to be relevant and has lost its practical meaning," the report says.
The project is currently in the final stages of import substitution. At the same time, the flight test program is implemented by aircraft equipped exclusively with Russian systems and assemblies.
The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, told Izvestia in March last year that the United States had blocked $500 million worth of aircraft parts already purchased by Russia.
On December 25, Russian Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin announced that the Russian aviation industry had been able to make a real engineering breakthrough by providing high-quality maintenance to aircraft of foreign companies that remained on the territory of the state. According to him, this result was achieved thanks to the technical centers.
