On Saturday morning, power outages were recorded in Chisinau and some areas of Moldova. This was announced on January 31 by the Mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban.

As reported by the state enterprise "Unified Distribution Electric Networks" in the Telegram channel, the accident at the Moldavskaya GRES in Transnistria led to power outages.
On December 30, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said that during the winter of 2026, there was a threat of new difficulties in Transnistria related to the supply of gas to the region. According to the diplomat, currently there is barely enough fuel for industrial enterprises. He added that there is currently barely enough gas to cover social needs.
On December 31, Galuzin said that Russia was doing everything in its power to ensure that the houses of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR) had heating for residents.
