New York Rangers exclude Panarin from the squad before a future trade
The New York Rangers hockey Club has withdrawn 34-year-old Russian striker Artemy Panarin from the squad. This is evidenced by a message posted on the official website of the National Hockey League (NHL).
Panarin was not included in the squad for the match against HC New York Islanders, which took place on the night of Wednesday, January 28, to Thursday, January 29, Moscow time. Earlier, the club's general manager Chris Drury informed Panarin that the club would not extend his contract, but would try to find him a new club before the transfer deadline.
Panarin is 34 years old. Before joining the Rangers, he played in the NHL for the Columbus Blue Jackets and Chicago Blackhawks. He has 927 points (321 goals and 606 assists) in 804 regular season games. The striker has played 52 games this season, scoring 57 goals (19 goals and 38 assists).
The press service of the New Jersey Devils hockey club announced on January 28 that the team had traded Russian forward Maxim Tsyplakov from HC New York Islanders for forward Ondrej Palat. Tsyplakov played 104 games for the Islanders, scoring 37 points (11+26).
