Iran will respond appropriately even to a limited strike from the United States. This was announced on January 28 by Kazem Gharib-Abadi, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic for International Affairs.

"Iran will respond appropriately even to a limited strike," RIA Novosti quoted Gharib-Abadi as saying.

The diplomat noted that such a response is necessary so that the attacking side does not get into the habit of striking every couple of months, seeing that Tehran does not respond to threats of a limited nature.

US President Donald Trump said on January 22 that the United States is closely monitoring the situation in Iran and is sending significant military forces, including ships, to the region. According to him, Washington warned Tehran about a possible US strike if the executions continued in the country, after which the Iranian authorities canceled them.

On January 24, Sky News TV channel quoted a senior Iranian official as saying that Iran would consider any attack as a full-scale war against it. At the same time, an Iranian representative told the channel that the US military buildup, in his opinion, may not be aimed at a real confrontation.
