Boris Ignatiev, the former head coach of the Russian national football team, died at the age of 86. This was announced on January 27 by his widow Irina Ignatieva.

"Boris Ignatiev is gone," she told TASS.

Ignatiev led the Russian national team from 1996 to 1998.
