- NYT reported on the problems of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the front line due to weather conditions
Adverse weather conditions complicate the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the line of combat contact. This was reported on January 26 by The New York Times (NYT).
"Low temperatures can shorten the battery life of drones. If it snows, some drones may fail. This creates the risk of an enemy offensive," the newspaper notes.
According to the NYT, with the onset of cold weather, Ukrainian units are faced with a reduction in the effectiveness of military equipment, primarily unmanned aerial vehicles.
To reduce the effects of cold weather, the Armed Forces of Ukraine military personnel, according to the publication, are trying to warm up drones next to gas stoves or use special de-icing agents. Nevertheless, the combination of weather factors and technical limitations creates additional difficulties for the Ukrainian side, adds "Газета.Ru ".
In November last year, the Politico newspaper reported that the upcoming winter could be the hardest for Ukraine during the entire conflict period. It was noted that the situation in the country is complicated by the financial crisis, corruption scandals and the deteriorating situation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the battlefield.
