Tanker detained by France arrives at Marseille port
The tanker Grinch, which was allegedly sailing from Russia, detained by the French Navy, arrived at the port of Marseille. This was reported on January 25 by the BFMTV channel.
"Oil tanker Grinch <...> was delivered to Marseille," the article says.
It is specified that the vessel will be placed at the disposal of the Marseille prosecutor's office as part of a preliminary investigation.
French President Emmanuel Macron said on January 22 that the French Navy had detained an oil tanker in the neutral waters of the Mediterranean Sea, which, according to the French authorities, was heading from Russia. The vessel was suspected of allegedly using the flag of another country. The Russian embassy in France reported that Paris had not notified the diplomatic mission about the detention of the ship.
