- Dmitriev called the words of the Belgian Prime minister about a vassal and a slave a difficult choice.
Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of Russia and CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), commented on January 21 on the words of Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever about the possible transformation of Europe from a "contented vassal" of the United States into an "unhappy slave," calling this a difficult choice for Europe.
"A difficult choice for vassals," Dmitriev wrote in X (ex. Twitter).
French President Emmanuel Macron said in Davos on January 20 that the world we live in has lost its usual rules. The French leader also expressed concerns about US policy, accusing them of seeking to weaken and subjugate Europe.
On the same day, political analyst Ivan Mezyuho, in an interview with Izvestia, reported that Europe does not have any strategic autonomy and economic sovereignty, which Macron is talking about. According to him, Europe is even ready to start talking with Russia amid fear and uncertainty over the policies of American leader Donald Trump.
