Increased geomagnetic disturbances did not affect the operation of the International Space Station (ISS). This was announced on January 20 by the Roscosmos press service, refuting information about the forced evacuation of the crew.

"The Russian crew of the International Space Station is operating normally according to the flight program. There is no threat to the health of the crew and the safety of the station," the Telegram channel says.

Roscosmos stressed that the information that appeared earlier in the media about the evacuation of the ISS crew to one of the modules during a magnetic storm is not true. The work of the station and its crew continues as usual.

On the same day, the press service of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IKI RAS) reported that the second peak of the magnetic storm begins on Earth. It is indicated that geomagnetic indexes can be marked at a minimum of G4.

Earlier in the day, the IKI RAS laboratory reported that a G4.33 planetary magnetic storm was taking place on Earth, while the main question remains whether the highest level of G5, which has been observed only once in the last 20 years, in May 2024, will be reached in the coming hours.
