HPV test for Russians included in compulsory medical insurance policy

The analysis for the detection of human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA has become available to Russian women as part of a reproductive medical examination under the compulsory medical insurance policy. This follows from a document reviewed by TASS on January 20.

According to the materials, a diagnostic study to determine the DNA of highly oncogenic HPV types is included in the first stage of medical examination for women aged 21 to 49 years. If the initial test results are positive, the patients will additionally undergo liquid oncocytology.
