On January 18, the French TV channel TF1 published exclusive footage of the Louvre robbery, which took place in October 2025.

The video surveillance footage shows the actions of two intruders. As can be seen on the recording, they cut through the protective glass of the showcase with the help of grinders, after which they broke it and seized the jewelry inside.

The newspaper Le Parisien reported on January 12 that investigators investigating what happened at the Louvre in October 2025 found the garage where the criminals brought the jewelry immediately after the robbery. Law enforcement agencies do not rule out that the robbers did not act on order, but on their own initiative, which, according to the publication, "may be destructive to the image of France."

L'Express magazine reported on November 6 last year that the French Court of Auditors increased the cost of the Louvre Nouvelle Renaissance renovation project from 700-800 million euros to 1.15 billion euros. It was noted that from 2018 to 2024, the management of the cultural institution did not pay enough attention to the repair of buildings, technical structures, as well as the issue of safety.

In turn, French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati reported on the Louvre robbery on October 19 of the same year. As she noted, the robbery took only a few minutes and was carried out by professionals. At the same time, Le Parisien reported the discovery near the site of the robbery of the broken crown of the wife of Emperor Napoleon III Eugenie, which, among other decorations, was exhibited in the Apollo Gallery.
