The Kremlin pointed to Putin's efforts to de-escalate in the Middle East
Russian President Vladimir Putin is making efforts to de-escalate the situation in the Middle East. This was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov at a briefing on January 16.
"The situation in the region (in the Middle East — Ed.) is very tense, Putin is making efforts to de-escalate," Peskov said.
He added that the Russian leader pays great attention to the situation around Iran. In addition, the press secretary of the Russian president announced a telephone conversation between Putin and Iranian President Masoud Peseshkian.
