Reuters reported on the arrival of the head of the IMF in Kiev to meet with Zelensky
Kristalina Georgieva, head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), has arrived in Kiev for further talks with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. This was reported on January 15 by the Reuters news agency, citing sources.
"Georgieva arrived in Kiev early on Thursday morning for high—level talks," the article says.
According to the newspaper, the head of the IMF will also hold a meeting with Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko and central bank Governor Andrei Pyshny and business representatives.
At the same time, two days earlier, Ukraine had overdue another payment on the IMF debt. Kiev was supposed to transfer 125.74 million special drawing rights (SDR) to the fund to pay off part of the debt. We are talking about the return of funds received under the IMF's loan mechanism, formed by contributions from the organization's member States.
