Veterinarian from Bryansk sentenced to 10 years for financing extremism
The Second Western District Military Court sentenced Alexey Morozov, a veterinarian from the Bryansk region (included in the list of terrorists and extremists in the Russian Federation), to 10 years in prison in the case of financing the organization "Artillery Preparation" (banned in Russia and recognized as extremist). This became known on January 13.
"To appoint Alexey Vladimirovich Morozov a sentence of 10 years in prison, of which he will spend 3 years in prison, and the rest in a high—security colony," the judge announced the verdict, the text is quoted by TASS.
The court ruled that Morozov would spend three years in prison, and the rest of his term in a high—security colony. In addition, he was fined 300 thousand rubles.
During the court arguments, the public prosecutor insisted on a more severe punishment, requesting 11 years in prison and a fine of 400 thousand rubles for the defendant.
