Pavel Akishev, a former Russian national baseball team player and multiple national champion, has died at the age of 43. This was announced on January 11 by the Russian Baseball and Softball Federation.

"Russian baseball player Pavel Alexandrovich Akishev has died. <...> Pavel would have turned 43 on January 30," the Telegram channel said.

The Federation clarified that the farewell to the athlete will take place on Wednesday, January 14, in the memorial hall of the Podolsk Regional Clinical hospital, the funeral service and burial will be held in Chekhov. The cause of death is not specified.

A graduate of the Moscow Moskvich club, pitcher Pavel Akishev was a member of the national team until 2010, became a participant in three European championships and repeatedly won the title of champion of Russia, including as part of the Tornado team.
