CSKA beat Shanghai Dragons in KHL match

The Moscow hockey club (HC) CSKA beat the Chinese club Shanghai Dragons in the regular season match of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). The meeting took place on Friday, January 9, in Moscow and ended with the victory of the hosts with the score 3:2 (0:2, 2:0, 1:0).

As part of the Army team, striker Prokhor Poltapov scored a double, scoring in the 40th and 58th minutes, and forward Maxim Sorkin scored another goal (33rd). Defenseman Jake Bischoff (8th) and forward Nate Sucese (14th) scored goals for the visitors.

This match was the 600th in the KHL for the Shanghai Dragons. The team has been playing in the league since the 2016/17 season and was previously known as Kunlun Red Star.

CSKA Moscow (52 points) rose to fifth place in the Western Conference of the KHL after 45 matches. Shanghai Dragons (43) is ninth in the West after 43 games, adds Sport-Express.

On January 4, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl defeated CSKA Moscow in a KHL match in a shootout. Regular time and overtime ended with a score of 1:1. Denis Zernov scored for CSKA, and Byron Fraz scored for Lokomotiv. The winning shootout was scored by Artur Kayumov.
